Autistic Savant

For the first time ever I stray from the technical, well nearly anyway.
Last year I happened across an attempt to break the European record for remembering PI by, someone I'd never heard of, Daniel Tammet. He repeated the digits of PI to 22,000 places, now what's unusual is that although a Japanese has easily beaten this by double, the Japanese does it by sheer memory power whereas Daniel just "sees" the answer. He is an Autistic Savant like the rain man. There are about 40 of them in the world, excitingly Daniel is the least disabled in the conventional sense and is thus able to lucidly describe to scientists how his brain works. Daniel suggests that several of our geniuses were probably partly autistic. May be Daniel is a sort of X-Man!!

But see http://www.google.com/search?q="daniel tammet"

Mobile Phone Sel-Locking

I've been accidentally phoning people from my pocket for years. I've just found out you can set your mobile phone to self-lock after say 2 minutes of inactivity. How come nobody told me about that!!
